“We honor up, We honor down, We honor all the way around” – Transformation Church
Isaiah 29: 13 reads : ” And so the Lord says, “These people say they are mine. They honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. And their worship of me is nothing but man-made rules learned by rote [mechanical or habitual repetition of something to be learnt].
Let’s all admit that it is so very easy to honor individuals from our same group, who share the same likes and dislikes as us, share the same religious views, share the same mindsets.
But how easy is it for you to honor someone that you have not a single thing in common with? Don’t answer that… Just think about it.
Honor means to regard with great respect.
It shouldn’t be hard to honor everyone around us. But we have this bad habit of doing just the opposite of that.
I too am guilty of it time and time again.
Why not try something new though?
Honor the leaders of your village, your town, your country , your city, your region, your world , your universe.
But also honor your helpers, your enemies, your servants, your cleaners, your janitors, your security guards and body guards and everyone in between.
Honor each and everyone around you.
Remember Honor up, Honor Down, Honor All the way Around.
