So I gave my life to God a while back and I’m thankful for the daily revelations given to me by the holy spirit residing within me.
Tonight while I listened to a powerful sermon on Relationship Goals by Transformation Church I got a revelation.
When we are saved, a part of Christ is joined with us. If you don’t believe me, 1 Corinthians 6:15 says “Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take away the members of Christ and make them members of a prostitute? May it never be!”
I’ve honestly read this scripture so many times and I’m only just realizing a few things.
When we become saved and we have sex, Christ is not somewhere looking on from a camera lens in the universe. He’s part of each and every one of us, so he’s actually right there with us when we commit sexual immorality.
And the question is, do we really know what such a thing outside of marriage does to Christ within us. When we’re enjoying the little bouts of sin, while we’re saved, does Christ who’s part of us enjoy it as well? No! he does not. He endures it. He shouldn’t have to endure such a thing.
See the thing is we think that we own our bodies but we don’t. We never have and we never will. 1 Corinthians 6:19 – 20 says “ Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.”
So what we need to understand is that when we become saved, when we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and savior, a part of Christ resides with us. We need to be careful in regards to what we do and what we say. Be sure to not subject him to endure sin and sexual immorality. Remember our bodies are not our own, they belong to God.
