Lack of obedience

Many believers in todays age haven’t understood the word obedience when it comes to the things of God they believe that God exists but they don’t obey the things that the lord god is telling them to do or speak of. If you a true believer you will hear from God through the Holy Spirit in John 8:47 it says he who belongs to God hears what God says the reason you don’t hear is that you don’t belong to God. As believers and children of God we certainly hear from God but even though God speaks to us he won’t force us to obey what he says that is where our obedience, faith and discernment of spirits comes to play. Sometimes the lord is telling us that the road we are presently walking is wrong and therefore we need to change route. In other words some decisions we’ve made is not connected or aligned with the purpose God have set for our life also it could be grudges or a person or people that we are holding on to that his telling us to let go or get rid of them/it . Maybe where he wants to take us that decision or person, people or grudge is hindering us or slowing us down in reaching where he design for us to be on this earth. Obedience is very important for us as children of God if we go in the Old Testament where the lord god delivered Israel out of slavery in Egypt we can see that the lord God almighty was leading and protecting Israel as long as they obeyed his commands and laws. Moses is a perfect example of the importance of obeying God word in numbers 20 God gave Moses an instruction the lord said take your staff you and your brother Aron gather the assembly together speak to that rock before their eyes and it will pour out its water. Moses took the staff from the lords presence just as he commanded him Moses and Aron gathered the assembly together in front of the Rock and Moses said, listen you rebels must we bring water out of this rock ? Now this was Moses first part of his disobedience in this scenario the lord didn’t tell Moses to ask the assembly if they must bring water from that rock he told them speak to the rock and it will pour out its waters. Then Moses raised his arm and struck the rock twice with his staff water gushed out and the community and their livestock drank, this was the second time Moses disobeyed the lord god the lord never told Moses to hit the rock he said speak to it and it will pour out it water so because of Moses disobedience God punished him. Sometimes God speaks to us and we do listen but we don’t execute it the way God tells us to do it sometimes we look at things in a physical eye view and say to ourself ” I don’t think that will work that way ” and we forget that nothing is impossible for the lord God almighty. God rewards us when we obey and do all what he instructs us to do the way he wants turn your bible to Deuteronomy 28 let’s review some of the blessings for obedience.

  • verse 7 says : the lord will grant that the enemies who rise up against you will be defeated before you they will come at you from one direction but flee from you in Seven.

  • verse 11 says : the lord will grant you abundant prosperity in the fruit of your womb, the young of your livestock and the crops of your ground.

  • verse 13 says : the lord will make you the head not the tail if you pay attention to the commands of the lord your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them you will always be at the top never at the bottom.

so believers children of God obey the voice of God and undertake whatever he tells you to do the way he so desires cause if you don’t and go about doing it your way you will not reap any rewards or blessing from it. may the lord god have mercy on us and bless us in all we do.
